A currently process of globalisation and structural changes, make it clear that Croatia with its regions must increasingly have to rely on its innovation capacity in the future to remain competitive internationally on global market. With new products introduction based on innovative methods and technologies it is possible to achieve new working places and higher living standard. On the other side Croatia must came in the position to develop and market innovative products and services with higher VAT. Technical objectives on regional level (Dalmatian region) must be innovation production with high value-added potential and to cover several stages of the supply chain in different sectors (especially in shipbuilding, automotive and machine tools industries). For realisation of this objective it is very important to achieve close interaction and communication between researcher on university and institutes with employers in industry enterprises. In the development of innovative products and services besides OEM must be particularly involved very small, small and medium enterprises.
The detailed objectives are as follows:
– development of the domestic strategy and core competencies,
– increased regional education (development of an ongoing fundaments for a successful entrepreneurship),
– development of new products and services with higher VAT in the companies (introduce innovative production methods and technologies),
– technological and organisational reengineering and restructure of existing companies,
– regional networking and integration,
– improving cooperation within Supply Chain (between companies in the valued-added chain),
– development of networking procedures with other regions (in Croatia and around),
– development of networks of innovation (networking between research institutes),
– development of small and medium entrepreneurship,
– to prepare the Croatia organisations for 7 FP,
– to create modern R&D infrastructure: Regional Technological Parks and Centres, Competences Network Centres etc.

The proposed Technological Platform is introduced for Dalmatian region (consist of 4 of total 21 County in Croatia). The proposal R&D sector of the Platform is based on existing fundamental sectors in region which correspond with ManuFuture research themes (strategic fields of action), especially developments of new products and services with higher VAT. Based on experience in setting the Technological Platform for Dalmatian, development of ManuFuture is planed for whole Croatian industry. Main objectives of Croatian ManuFuture would be inclusion of Croatian enterprises in global network and further development of domestic innovation capacity. With realisation of this plan, Croatia will become a site for scientific and economical investments.
